OIL SEAL LIP DESIGNS

"V" LIP DESIGNS

Figure 3 illustrates standard lip design of "V" symbol. The "V" type designs are the single lip oil seal without garter spring for applications of minor importance.

"K" LIP DESIGNS

Figure 4 illustrates standard double lip designs of "K" symbol. The feature of "K" type designs, corresponding to "V" type, is the auxiliary lip for light dust exclusion.

(1) in high shaft speed, it's more possible to use high temperature materials such as polyacrylate, silicone or fluoroelastomer.

(2)slightly higher continuous pressure is applied to shaft speed below 200 ft./min.
